Missed our last blog on staying safe in the sun? Have a terrible sunburn from all of the sun? Here are some helpful tips on healing your sunburn fast.
Apply Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe Vera can help heal the sunburn by relieving discomfort and inflammation. Be sure to check your Aloe Vera gel product does not contain any ingredient ending in ‘caine’. These ingredients such as benzocaine or lidocaine, can cause an allergic skin rash that will only make your skin hurt more!
Drink extra fluids
Sunburn draws fluid to the skin surface and away from the rest of the body. Make sure you are staying hydrating by drinking extra fluids.
Cool your skin
Apply a cold wet towel to your skin or put a towel over an ice pack. This helps the skin capillaries to constrict and reduce the inflammation and redness of your sunburn.
Use a moisturizing cream or lotion to soothe skin and help heal the burn. Consider using a product containing vitamin C and E. We like Epicurean’s Aloe right after a sunburn.
Taking a pain reliever can help ease the swelling and redness of sunburn.
