Get rid of unsightly and unwanted hair fast and easy. Our ClearScan contains an infrared laser that can selectively target microstructures such as hair follicles. It can treat skin types (I) that are very fair, always burn and never tan (usually blond hair and blue eyes) to skin types (VI) that never burn (dark skin, dark hair and eyes). Tanned skin can be treated safely, but always keep us informed if you have been tanning, using tanning products, or exposed to the sun within the last three weeks so that the treatment regimen can be adjusted accordingly to give you the safest, most effective experience.

Treatment time will depend upon the area to be treated. Our machine has a system for cooling your skin for the purpose of removing heat as it leaves the follicles to insure you a comfortable treatment. Sensation varies from individual to individual, a topical anesthesia can be provided.

The ClearScan employs a unique computer-guided scanning system that automates the treatment, ensuring that your skin is rapidly and evenly treated. The computer sets the parameters and places the beam in an optimum pattern for your skin to ensure a safe, fast, effective and gentle treatment.

You may experience some redness and slight swelling in the area that has been treated; this should subside within a few hours. Keep the treated area clean, using at least SPF 15 sunscreen when outdoors and consult our physician should any problems occur. An average of 3 to 5 treatments at intervals of 3 to 8 weeks may be needed. Only hairs in the active growth phase, anagen, can be successfully treated. Temporary pigmentation changes are possible but seldom occur. Always discuss your concerns with our physician prior to your treatment.

The infrared energy delivered by ClearScan can be used to remove all types of hair. Sometimes “shaving bumps” (ingrown hair) can cover a follicle, but the penetrating light of the ClearScan can still be safely used.
