What conditions and areas can be treated?
Wrinkles, epidermal nevi, acne scars, solar lentigines, actinic keratoses, hypertrophic scars, surgical scars. Popular areas are the face, neck, chest and hands.

How long will it take to recover?
Healing time depends on your actual treatment depth. Healing time does vary among individuals and erythema may last several weeks.

What can I expect after treatment?
Redness is common and swelling maybe present in areas treated, however, it should subside in a few hours. Your skin will have a residual pink or red color that will resolve over time.

Will it be uncomfortable?
The amount of discomfort varies from patient to patient. The doctor will discuss your anesthesia options to properly manage any discomfort from treatment.

Is there risk?
Following the correct aftercare procedures prescribed by your physician will reduce the risk of infection. To ensure excellent healing, you will return to Dr. Anderson for a follow-up visit.

What will happen during the procedure?
After discussing options, the doctor will administer a topical anesthesia. Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. The laser beam will be delivered through a computer controlled devise that automatically cans the area of our skin being treated. You may hear snapping or popping noise as the laser beam gently removes the outer skin cells. Your procedure may take a few minutes to half an hour, depending on the size of the area to be treated and the depth of your peel.

What after care will I need?
It is important to follow your physician's instructions. Skin care products and instructions on how to use them will be discussed. Their use will minimize your risk of infection and ensure the shortest healing time. The top layer of your skin will re-grow and can be covered with makeup in about one week. Your new skin will be very sensitive to ultra-violet light and you must avoid sun exposure until fully healed.
