Turmeric (Curcumin) ~ Update
Turmeric which is a part of the ginger family is one of the most studied spices today with a multitude of research and studies to back up the findings. Its most commonly used in cooking, other uses include; a dye, medicine supplements, cosmetic, ect.
Turmeric is known for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-cancer support. Other benefits and support may include;

Curcumin is a molecule found in Turmeric and is credited with providing the medical benefits of Turmeric. Both are equally as important and work as a team. More recent studies have indicated the benefits of using Curcumin in skin and nail disorders both in oral (capsule form) and topical applications. One study showed that using curcumin is effective as an adjuvant therapy the treatment of psoriasis vulgaris, a common chronic inflammatory disorder of the skin and nails.
Some issues in using Turmeric or Curcumin is poor bio-availability or absorption. In the case of digestion it may not be absorbed through the stomach tissues or lining preventing the effectiveness of the product and the desired ultimate results.
Personally, I take Turmeric on a daily basis and can attest to the results. There are different products on the markets and some may work better for you than others.
